The Comparisons tool can be used to compare jail and population statistics across different geographic entities, from facilities and counties at the most granular level to states, regions and the entire nation.
Comparisons may include information like the difference in average daily jail population (ADP) per detention facility capacity between two regions, or percentile for length of stay for a facility compared to all others in its state. Depending on the availability of demographics and other fields for which reporting varies among publicly available online jail rosters, other information may be presented, such as comparison of the median age of people detained in two counties.
Use the selectors above to generate comparisons between any two entities in the United States for which we have bookings data. The underlying data can be downloaded, and users can generate printable reports.
